Unless you are willing to accept government intrusion into big business there will always be good ol' boy clubs that do deals behind the scenes that are not tot he benefit of the consumer.
You have to remember that the number one obligation a for-profit corporation has is to make its shareholders money. This is not always going to lead to the best treatment of its customer base, nor is it going to lead to environmental responsiblity, or even honesty in some cases.
A more socialistic approach to big business might not be such a bad idea in the long run...of course all business owners would protest this move because in the ned it would cut thier profits. But in this world there are other things that need to be addressed rather than increasing the bank accoutns of those who already have more money than they can ever spend.
It's complicated with the socialism move. But if we, as consumers, have only to gain from it, then let's do it. But only controlled, and only temporary.
